With a nice entry of 18 young promising pups and dogs, and great cool weather, we enjoyed our day watching our dogs learn about quail, blank pistol fire and horses on October 21, 2006 at Silversmith Farm on Johns Island. Thanks to Bill Hall, Russ Smith, Mary Ann Hall, Linda Garrett, Pam Cherry and Janet Boggs and everyone else for helping put on this event. In the afternoon, we practiced for the Retrieving Ratings held on Sunday. As usual, our supper afterwards was delicious and we enjoyed lots of laughs and stories of our delinquent dogs! We had a wonderful turnout of 21 promising young field dogs for our 2005 Novice Pointing Dog Field Day on October 29, 2005. We had 10 entries and most of them completed the land retrieve. However, the notorious "run around and show off your bird" afflicted the remaining and in the end only 3 were successful!! Congratulations to Bill Hall, Mary Ann Hall and Pam Cherry!!

2004 POINTING DOG FIELD DAY &
WCA RETRIEVING RATINGS
Saturday, October 30 & Sunday, October 31, 2004
We had a fabulous time with 15 handlers and their dogs on Saturday. In the afternoon we practiced for the retrieving test, had a show handling class, followed by a fun match for the puppies and then graded 7 beautiful puppies from Jeannette Myers litter. Afterwards we had a delicious covered dish supper. Here are some photos of the activities. Thanks to Bill Hall for being the main "bird man" this weekend! And, thanks to everyone who helped make this another quality event for Weimaraners.
On Sunday
(Halloween) the WCA Retrieving Ratings was held and 3
of the 5 dogs passed, earning their Novice Retrieving Dog titles judged by Merry Woodham & Debbie McDaniel

We had a good turnout with 14 handlers and their dogs participating in the Field Day events. Everyone had a great time and their dogs went wild over the quail. I am certain we will be seeing some new Junior Hunters in January! Thanks to all club members for getting out and helping with this event. We also tattooed 3 dogs, held a show handling class and had a delicious covered dish supper. Here are some photos:

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26,2002 A FUN DAY FOR ALL!
We had 10 handlers with dogs and 3 observers for our annual Weimaraner Field Day which was held at Silversmith Farm on October 26. We started by going over the rules of the WCA Ratings Tests and the AKC Hunting tests. Then we spent the rest of the morning running the dogs on quail, along with getting them used to gunfire. All dogs were allowed to find and chase live Bob White quail. The day was also devoted to practice for the Retrieving Ratings test, which would be held the next day, and getting the younger pups swimming. We had a tattoo clinic at 4 pm and then supper at 6 pm.

The weather cooperated and our Retrieving test was held at Silversmith Farm on Johns Island. We had 12 entries and wish all had passed.
