GCWC's Newsletter "WEIMARANER NEWS" is updated periodically.
Generally, it is published every other month. Below is the current issue: WEIMARANER
NEWS
Newsletter of the Greater Charleston
Weimaraner Club
JUNE/JULY 2008
From Your Editor
Dear GCWC members:
We will start meeting at 6PM on Sundays at
Silversmith Farm for anyone who wants to get their dog/puppy
swimming/retrieving. Also, we will be helping anyone who needs show
handling.
We are cooling off with fun swimming
and preparing for our Fall/Winter events!
Here are some photos from our
Charleston Dog Show Rescue Booth!

Rhett Myers brought our new enclosed
trailer to the meeting on 5/13 and all we can say is WOW! We will be able to
haul
our stuff in style. It is particularly going to be nice for our HT
Secretary - whoever lucky person that might be! They will have
their own "office" right there on the grounds. And, speaking of that
, Mary Ann Hall has volunteered to be the HT Secretary for the
December & January HTs. She will need help so please volunteer to
assist her with these duties (paperwork).

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT’S DAILY DIARY
(
Day 683 of my captivity )
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling
objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat while other inmates and I are fed
hashor
some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly
clear,
I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The onlything that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an
attempt to disgust them, Ionce again vomited on the floor. Today I
decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I
hoped this would strike fear into them since it clearlydemonstrates
what I am capable of. However, they merely made
condescendingcomments about what a “great little hunter” I am. The
audacity!!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.
However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. Ioverheard that
my confinement was due to my power of “allergies.” I must learn
whatthis means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today
I was almost successful in an attempt to assanate one of my
tormentors byweaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try
this again tomorrow—but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced
that the other prisoners here flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released—and
he seems more thanwilling to return. He is obviously retarded. The
bird has got to be an informant—I observe him communicating with the
guards regularly. I am certain that he records my every move.
The captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated
cell, so he is safe—
For now. But I can wait. For it is only a matter of time

You may not know this but many
non-living things have a gender.
1) Ziploc Bags are Male, because they hold everything
in, but you can see right through them.
2) Copiers are Female, because once turned off; it
takes a while to warm them up again. It's an effective
reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed,
but can wreak havoc if the wrong buttons are pushed.
3) A Tire is Male, because it goes bald and it's often
over-inflated.
4) A Hot Air Balloon is Male, because, to get it to go
anywhere, you have to light a fire under it, and of
course, there's the hot air part.
5) Sponges are Female, because they're soft,
squeezable and retain water.
6) A Web Page is Female, because it's always getting
hit on.
7) A Subway is Male, because it uses the same old
lines to pick people up.
8) An Hourglass is Female, because over time, the
weight shifts to the bottom.
9) A Hammer is Male, because it hasn't changed much
over the last 5,000 years, but it's handy to have
around.
10) A Remote Control is Female. Ha! You thought it'd
be male, didn't you? But consider this - it gives a
man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while he
doesn't always know the right buttons to push, he
keeps trying! |

My neighbor has a
puppy he's giving away (FREE!).
It's a Beagle, it's
house broken, and it's great with kids.
He's giving it
away because his wife says the dog 'stares' at
her when she is
undressing and gives her the 'Heebie Jeebies'.
I think she is just
weird!
If you're
interested, or know someone who is, let me know.
Here's a picture of

PARIS, France The Associated Press Friday, August 5, 2005;
11:00 PM -- Lance Armstrong's record setting seventh Tour de France victory, along
with his entire Tour de France legacy, may be tarnished by what could turn
out to be one of the greatest sports scandals of all time Armstrong is being quizzed by French police after three banned substances were found in his South France hotel room while on vacation after winning the 2005 Tour de France.
The three substances found were toothpaste, deodorant, and soap which
have been banned by French authorities for over 75 years. Armstrong's
girlfriend and American rocker Sheryl Crowe is quoted as saying "We use them every
day in America, so we naturally thought they'd be OK throughout Europe."
Along with these three banned substances, French authorities also
physically searched Armstrong himself and found several other interesting items
that they have never seen before, including a backbone and testicles. ______________________________________________
